Josh Abe, the 16-year-old English winger, is one of Liverpool FC’s brightest academy prospects. He was born in Warrington on 17 July 2010. The left-footed right winger joined the club’s pre-academy at age four or five and has progressed quickly through the ranks.
An England youth international, Abe made his Under-18 debut as an Under-16, scored a hat-trick against Leeds United, and became Liverpool’s youngest player in the UEFA Youth League. He trained with the first team, played in senior pre-season matches, and was handed the number 40 shirt after committing his future to the Reds despite interest from top clubs. Strong, quick, and direct, Abe continues to impress as a first-year scholar.
Is he capable of replacing senior players in high-stakes matches?
There is video of him playing in an Under-18 youth game. They lost this game though, but you always hear his name being called by his teammates, a testament to how they relied on him.
